Day 1 - Not a Single Flying Plane on the Ground

Today we woke up at 4:30am to hit the airport.

We left Vancouver at 8:00am and flew to Toronto Pearson Airport for a 2 hour stop-over on our stop-over to England.

Our plane left Pearson at 6:30pm Eastern Time ... you can do the math.

We arrived at St. John's (St. Jahhhhn's) ((please read with a Newfoundlander accent)) just before midnight (as a very cool and amazing singer once said: "Meet me at Midnight"...)

While we were flying, we saw giant orange and yellow and red lights below us. At first we thought they were planes or some kind of control tower. They were actually the humungous forest fires in Newfoundland.

When we arrived, we grabbed our bags and waited outside the airport for a hotel bus that would take us to the airport hotel. Did I mention it was my birthday the next day? When we got in our bus, we were counting down the seconds until midnight, AKA my birthday! It turned August 10th right when we pulled up at the Airport so Dad and my brother and Mom sang me Happy Birthday. The shuttle bus driver wished me happy birthday, too.

We went straight to bed.

Day 2 - Birthday, St. John's, and settling in

🎂💖 It's my birthday! We slept at the airport hotel for one night because we couldn't pick up the car until the next day. I woke up...
